SHANGHAI DRAGONS vs DALLAS FUEL OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | Dragons $5.50 at GG Bet | Fuel $1.12 at GG Bet |
When: | September 15, 2023 | 17:00 KST |
Watch Live: | YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/overwatchleague) |
Shanghai Dragons finished the OWL 2023 Summer Stage Knockouts in last place after losing to Sin Prisa Gaming twice, but that was hardly surprising. The Dragons have not looked good this season, and while they had a relatively solid 6-6 run through the Summer Stage Qualifiers, they have been uncompetitive against stronger teams.
Dallas Fuel, meanwhile, are among the best-performing OWL esports teams in the East region. Last month, the Fuel won the Summer Stage Qualifiers and made it to the Summer Stage Knockouts final, where they lost against Hangzhou Spark.
Dallas Fuel might not be as good as the Spark, but theyre up there with the top OWL East teams, and we expect that to show on Friday.
GUANGZHOU CHARGE vs SEOUL DYNASTY OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | Charge $2.42 at GG Bet | Dynasty $1.55 at GG Bet |
When: | September 15, 2023 | 18:30 KST |

Guangzhou Charge didnt look amazing a few weeks back when they exited the Summer Stage Knockouts in the first round. In their defence, the Charge only lost against the two Group B finalists, 02 Blast and Seoul Dynasty, but its not like theyve shown much in the 2023 Overwatch season.
Since winning the Spring Stage Qualifiers in May, Guangzhou have not produced anything even remotely as impressive. Whats worse, the Charge have been losing traction since the start of the summer and enter this match on a nine-game slide.
Seoul Dynasty defied all the odds and won OWL 2023 Summer Stage Knockouts. Theyve had very high highs but also low lows, making them an exciting team to watch but also a bit of a risky pick due to their inconsistencies.
Even though the Dynasty can be hit-or-miss, based on what weve seen from the two teams, Seoul should beat the Charge, just as they did at the start of September.
DALLAS FUEL vs POKER FACE OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | Fuel $1.04 at GG Bet | PF $9.00 at GG Bet |
When: | September 9, 2023 | 17:00 KST |

Dallas Fuel and Poker Face met in the upper-bracket semifinals of OWL Summer Stage Knockouts, where Dallas Fuel won 3-0 with 2-0, 2-1, 3-0.
Poker Face have since found some traction, defeating Rhodes (3-0) and ending Dreamer’s run in the lower-bracket semis (3-2). Dallas Fuel have played just one game in that time, losing 3-0 to Hangzhou Spark.
The Fuel played fairly well against the Spark and forced every map to the final round, so that loss isn’t too worrying. Still, Poker Face have looked good in their last two outings, especially Kim “PEPPI” Noah and Lee “Aiden” Seung-jun.
Overwatch betting sites have Dallas Fuel priced at $1.04, which is quite short, but it’s not like we can expect them to lose against Poker Face. The Fuel should win, but taking Poker Face to steal at least one map is the better play.
SEOUL INFERNAL vs SEOUL DYNASTY OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | Infernal $2.00 at GG Bet | Dynasty $1.72 at GG Bet |
When: | September 9, 2023 | 18:30 KST |
Watch Live: | YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/overwatchleague) |
Seoul Infernal and Seoul Dynasty will clash in the lower-bracket final of Group B in what should be an entertaining affair between two rival teams.
The Dynasty have been struggling this season and barely made it to the knockout stage after finishing the qualifiers in fourth place. Much of their issues had to do with not having the right players for the meta, which led to the departure of Kim “Prophet” Hyun-been and Lee “LeeSooMin” Soo-Min to O2 Blast. But as soon as the duo left, the meta shifted again, putting the Dynasty in a tough spot.
The Infernal have not had that many issues this season and have looked quite stable. Besides placing in the top six at Midseason Madness, they have done well in the three qualifying events, most recently ending the Summer Stage Qualifiers in second place with a 7-1 record.
So far in the Summer Stage Knockouts, Seoul Infernal have crushed Sin Prisa Gaming (3-1) and lost against O2 Blast (1-3) in the upper-bracket finals. On the other side, the Dynasty lost against O2 Blast (0-3) in their first game of the stage and have since beaten Guangzhou Charge (3-1) and edged past Sin Prisa Gaming (3-2) in the semis.
The Infernal should win this game quite easily. They are one of the region’s top two teams, and while the Dynasty are not terrible, there’s still a big gap between the pair.
Bliss is a 17-year-old South Korean support player who started his pro career in mid-2019, when he represented the Gen.G academy roster before transcending to their pro Overwatch team.
In June 2022, Bliss cut ties with Gen.G and got signed by the Korean team O2 Blast. He has garnered approximately $50,820 in total winnings from Overwatch tournaments.
Career highlights for Bliss included being part of the Gen.G outfit that finished second at the 2020 Overwatch Contenders: The Gauntlet Asia. Despite coming close to winning the event, they lost the final 4:1.
Bliss also replicated his commendable gameplay while representing O2 Blast; the team and player bagged a back-to-back first place at the 2022 Overwatch Contenders Summer Series: Korea A-Side and B-Side event, the 2022 Run It Back: Korea, and lastly the Pacific Showdown, which was only played about two weeks ago.
MCD, on the other hand, is a 25-year-old former support player for the North American team Boston Uprising. The player first made his Overwatch debut with Talon Esports in 2018 and since then has played with the likes of Foxes and Element Mystic.
Dallas Fuel’s roster, which recently won the Overwatch League Playoffs, currently includes Tank Choi “Hanbin” Han-been, Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han and Kim “Edison” Tae-hoon.
]]>The San Francisco Shock and Dallas Fuel faced off in the highly competitive 2022 Grand Finals of the Overwatch League, with the Fuel ultimately coming out on top in a thrilling 4-3 series. This match was one of the most watched in league history and left fans on the edge of their seats. As a way to add excitement to the offseason, the teams will be clashing again in a new format.
According to the San Francisco Shock announcement tweet, they will be facing off against the Dallas Fuel in a best-of-seven show match on December 26 at 10 pm CT. The match will take place at a LAN event in South Korea, and will provide fans with their first opportunity to see the new rosters of both teams for the 2023 Overwatch League season. This show match is highly anticipated, as it will give fans a glimpse of what to expect from these two teams in the upcoming season.
“Were teaming up with @ESET to bring you the Runback of the most watched @OverwatchLeague match of all time!” San Francisco Shock announced via a tweet.
“New Shock roster, Bo7 with a twist, on LAN live from Korea.
Shock vs @DallasFuel C December 26th @ 8pm PT”
The current roster of the San Francisco Shock includes only three players from their 2022 roster (MVP and Rookie of the Year Kim “Proper” Dong-hyun and support duo Oh “Finn” Se-jin and Park “Viol2t” Minki). The franchise had earlier let go of Kwon “Striker” Nam-joo, Colin “Coluge” Arai, Michael “mikeyy” Konicki, Samuel “s9mm” Santos, and more recently DPS Jung “Kilo” Jin-woo.
Many fans expect the San Francisco Shock to continue adding talented rookies from O2 Blast, the team’s academy team in 2022, to its roster in 2023. This is because the Shock acquired many of its top players from O2 Blast, a Korean Overwatch Contenders team, last season.
The Dallas Fuel have not yet announced the players that will participate in the Dec. 26 show match. At present, all members of the Dallas Fuel team, including the coaches, are unrestricted free agents, which means they are able to receive offers from any team in the Overwatch League. It is uncertain whether the championship-winning roster will appear in the show match.
The Overwatch League’s free agency period is scheduled to commence on December 23, provided that there are no further delays. After this date, teams will be able to officially sign and reveal their new acquisitions.
The upcoming event, which has been described as a “best-of-seven with a twist,” is sure to be an exciting one for Overwatch fans. It is unclear at this time what the twist will be, but it seems that there will be some special rounds of play beyond the typical Overwatch League format. To see what the teams have been preparing for this event, fans are expected to tune in at 10 pm CT on December 26th.
]]>The announcement was made by the co-owner of the franchise, who doubles as the co-owner of OpTic Gaming, Mike Hastr0 Rufail. ?
?He said, Regarding our @DallasFuel roster in 2023: ?
There are quite a few Fuel players who became unrestricted free agents after winning the 2022 @overwatchleague season. We understand this team is a unit and have decided to let the entire team explore their options for 2023.
I hope to give you more updates as we begin to solidify our 2023 plans. It has been a dream working with this team. We achieved our goal of bringing the title and trophy to Dallas. Thanks to everyone who supported us along the way. More coming soon regarding the Fuel. #BurnBlue?
?If there was one team in the league that fans would have expected to stay together, it was the Dallas Fuel. After finishing the Overwatch League Summer Showdown in first place and proceeding to become the league champions after defeating the San Francisco Shock, this news comes as a surprise to fans and rivals alike.?
?With all players becoming unrestricted free agents, they will be allowed to entertain other offers from any team in the league, and the entire roster can be snatched up by a rival team. In a Twitter voice note, Hastr0 added that there were a few players that they could have extended with a team option, guaranteeing the player an extra year on the roster, but the organization opted to let all players go into the offseason as unrestricted free agents.?
?While we, of course, would love to bring the team back to Dallas, we also recognize that because of the caliber of the team, the opportunities that they all might have individually could be greater, Hastr0 said in the voice note.
?Hastr0 had also put some fears of the fans to rest, stating that while all the players on the team are now unrestricted free agents, it does not necessarily translate to the team being picked apart. The players could field offers from any team, including the Dallas Fuel. He reassured fans that the franchise could re-sign some of the players, or possibly all.
?We will attempt to put together the best roster again for 2023 and we hope that roster includes many of the players we have now, Hastr0 said.? ?
Were not just abandoning the team, were going to attempt to re-sign some, if not all, of the team for next season and put together the best Dallas Fuel roster we can.
]]>The veteran roster proved their worth against the mostly rookie lineup from San Francisco, led by Daehee Crusty Park. Both teams put up an exciting finals performance, with the San Francisco Shock forcing the series to a Game 7 decider match. Unlike the Shock, who were gunning for their third OWL championship title, this is the first title in the Dallas Fuel franchise history.
Fuel had a great campaign in the latter half of the season, exerting their dominance in the West Region. This saw them claim the 2022 Summer Showdown tournament title from the unthreatening hands of the San Francisco Shock after sweeping them with a 4-0 record.
Fuel continued their dominance in the upper bracket of the playoffs with veteran tank Lee Fearless Euiseok at the helm. The franchise breezed through the Hangzhou Spark and Seoul Dynasty in the second and third round of the playoffs. In the upper bracket final against the Houston Outlaws, Fuel recorded a 3-1 score in the best of five series, thereby sealing a grand finals slot.
Their first encounter in the grand final against the San Francisco Shock was at the Lijiang Tower, as Kim Edison Taehun and Kim Proper Dong-hyun of the Shock engaged in a Sojourn battle. Proper was expected to come out victorious, owing to being the OWL Rookie of the Year and its Most Valuable Player.
Edison, however, had some clutch shots in him that led to the Dallas Fuel taking the first map. He continued his momentum on King’s Row, leading his team against Shocks backline, but Propers Railgun shots to the heads of Fuel guaranteed the second map victory for San Francisco.
The next map was Dorado, as selected by Fuel. It started out quite poorly for the Dallas franchise, but that soon changed with DPS Kim SP9RK1E Yeonghan hitting several massive multikills using the Reaper. Despite Fuels resistance, Shock secured the map. But the score was quickly evened out with SP9RK1E posting a triple duty for his team on the fourth map.
Oasis was won by the San Francisco Shock as Proper continued his good form while Michael mikeyy Konicki showed up and out, using his ultimate Winston champion. With Shock in the lead, the sixth round was a must-win for Fuel to further keep them in the running for the title. Fearless was remarkable on Route 66, frustrating every move made by Pepper and helping his team squeeze out a close victory.
With the game down to the wire, the deciding map at Colosseo saw Fuel edge out the Shock. Both teams traded blows for the entirety of the map. Fuels coordination and confidence proved enough to secure the win despite Shocks great performance.
The Anaheim Convention Center was filled with emotions as players of Fuel shared big hugs after making history. The bond within the team was clear as day, as many have played together for half a decade across multiple teams and Overwatch eras. Fearless had tears in his eyes as he stepped up to receive the Grand Finals MVP award.

HOUSTON OUTLAWS vs DALLAS FUEL OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

?After years of mediocre results, the Houston Outlaws put their foot down and completely restructured their roster for the 2021 season by signing some of the best talent from the Overwatch Contenders competition. Perhaps the most notable signings of the offseason were tank Cho JJANGGU Myung-heum and off-tank Shin PIGGY Min-jun, who joined the Texan outfit with a built-in synergy from their time together at Talon Esports.
The Dallas Fuel have hit the reset button as well, keeping only Kim “Doha” Dong-Ha from their 2020 roster. The new lineup looks adaptable to a possible meta shift due to the flexibility of their players, but much of their long-term success will come down to coach Hee-won “RUSH” Yun.
The Fuel should improve as the season goes on, but due to all the roster and coaching staff changes, they will likely be in for a slow start. We prefer the Outlaws at this price.
LOS ANGELES GLADIATORS vs SAN FRANCISCO SHOCK OWL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

LoL Betting Odds: | Gladiators $2.05 at GG Bet | Shock $1.70 at GG Bet |

?It may seem weird seeing the Los Angeles Gladiators priced this short considering how uninspiring they were last season, but they made all the right roster changes during the offseason and now field a very capable side that can make some noise during the 2021 Overwatch League campaign.
If their performance at the SteelSeries Invitational is any kind of indicator, the addition of Kim “MuZe” Young-hun, Jin-seo “Shu” Kim, Grant “moth” Espe, and Min-seok “skewed” Kim could take LA to their best season yet. They are still weaker than the San Francisco Shock, but the gap is not nearly as big as it might seem at first glance.
Its important to note that the Shock haven’t played a single official match since they won the 2020 OWL Grand Finals in October, whereas the Gladiators already have two games under their belt from the SteelSeries Invitational. We wouldn’t bet on LA to finish the season higher than San Fran, but they definitely can surprise the ring-rusty champions in the season opener.
The Dallas Fuel have been on an extensive rebuild of their Overwatch squad, and it appears they have signed their final player to round out the team. Ki-hyo Xzi Jung is the last piece of their puzzle, and he will join forces with his former Paris Eternal teammates.
Xzi has proven himself to be an impeccable player in the past, but only time will tell if this roster can work together to pull the Fuel through the rankings. It is too early to say whether this latest acquisition to have an effect on the team’s odds at Overwatch betting sites.
Benedict Lim “Hyhy” Han Yong has announced his return to the world of Dota 2 esports. This marks the second time hes coming out of retirement, and were excited to see what he will bring to the game.
The Singaporean is yet to sign to a team but has joined the Emerge agency, which helps esports players find a job. Regardless of where he finds a new home, HyHy will surely shift their odds across Dota2 bookmakers. One of his most significant accomplishments was landing the third position at The International 2011.
Over the weekend, South Africas ATK Arena hosted a Fortnite Solo tournament, open to fans and professionals alike. The total prize pool was R10,000, and it proved a massive success. The regular events that ATK host give us an insight on up-and-coming talent.
With the results in, the top player was Goliath Gamings Travis, which many South African betting sites predicted. He is one of the leading Fortnite players in the country, both when hes playing on a team and individually.
Gambit Esports came out on top of the recent DreamHack Open European Qualifier. In a field of more than 200 Counter-Strike teams, the Danish side left the contest as number one as they cruised through the single-elimination bracket without losing a map.
Thus far, only three other teams have a spot at the eight-team tournament. KOVA, out of the Finnish Telia Esports Series Three, have secured their place alongside Apeks, who were the winners of the Norwegian league, and Flowskola, who came through the Swedish qualifiers.
Infinity Esports, ranked 162nd in the world, are set to meet the Peruvian Supremacy eSports team on Wednesday, November 18th.
The Flow Fire League features best-of-three contests and a grand final. Supremacy have won four of their last five matches, beating Infinity once and losing to them once.
The winner will go through to the regionals. The first prize at the regional finals is US $3000, with second place settling for $1,500.
E-Gilas Pilipinas, the Philippines national esports team, left many fans disappointed despite being installed as NBA 2K betting favorites for their clash with Australia in the grand final of the Oceania & Southeast Asia conference at the FIBA Esports Open II.
They initially wowed spectators with their dominant performance in the elimination rounds. However, their luck fell short as they fell to their knees when facing the Aussies in the conference decider.
Australias team clinched second spot during the group stage, but they brought all of their might to the final and clinched the conference title with a 2-0 series win.
]]>Dallas Fuel will look hand Philadelphia Fusion just their third loss of Overwatch League (OWL) Season 3 when they kick off the 26th week of the competition this Friday.
The Fusion are 19-2 and have already booked their spot in the OWL 2020 playoffs. That means Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee and his crew can now focus on overtaking Shanghai Dragons, who top the combined standings with a 22-2 record.
Philadelphia finished third-fourth at the May Melee, where they were outmatched by Florida Mayhem (1-3) in the semi-finals. Carpe and co. improved upon that performance at the Summer Showdown earlier this month, when they made it to the grand finals only to lose to the rejuvenated Paris Eternal (3-4) thanks to a remarkable performance from Ki-hyo “Xzi” Jung.
Back in the regular season, the Fusion kicked off July with a narrow 3-2 win against Los Angeles Gladiators. While losing two maps against a team of that calibre is not all too promising on paper, we have to give Philly some praise for fighting back from 0-2 down to seal a reverse sweep. The Fusion followed that up with a clean 3-0 win against Toronto Defiant where they lost only two rounds out of nine.

While Philadelphia have enjoyed relatively smooth sailing through the 2020 OWL season, Dallas Fuel have experienced quite a turbulent trip through thus far.
The Fuel started the campaign with three straight defeats and entered June with only four wins from 11 outings. That led to a key summer signing, with support William Crimzo Hernandez adding depth to the squad and enabling DPS Jang Decay Gui-un to shine.
Despite their improved performances, Dallas went down to Florida Mayhem (1-3) and Vancouver Titans (0-3) before picking up a clean 3-0 win against Toronto Defiant to end June with a 1-2 record. In the Summer Showdown, the Fuel were quite unfortunate to face Paris Eternal (1-3) in the first round, which meant they finished the monthly tournament in ninth-12th place.
Dallas began July’s OWL matches with two wins against Houston Outlaws (2-3) and Boston Uprising (3-1), which have set them up nicely to claim their first 3-0 month of the season. While those results came against two of the weakest teams in the league, they show that the Fuel are starting to find their feet and should not be underestimated.
While Dallas Fuel have improved and shown occasional flashes of brilliance, they are in for an uphill battle this Friday when they face one of the OWL 2020 title contenders.
The last time these teams met was in May, when Philly came away with a 3-1 win. That scoreline might suggest the Fusion dominated, but the series went down to the wire with all four maps decided by a single point.
Both teams have looked better since then, so the question is: are we in for another close bout, or have the Fusion opened an even wider gap on the Fuel?
Philadelphia are 8-3 in all competitions since they last clashed with Dallas, which suggests they are strong but beatable. Considering the Gladiators gave the Fusion a good run earlier this month, the Fuel just might keep this one close enough to cover the handicap.
USA BETTING: HOW TO BET ON ESPORTS
OWL 2018: ULTIMATE GUIDE TO THE OVERWATCH LEAGUE
TIPS HUB: ESPORTS BETTING PREDICTIONS
1st place: Los Angeles Valiant (8 V C 0 D)
2nd place: Los Angeles Gladiators (7 V C 1 D)
3rd place: New York Excelsior (6 V C 2 D)
4th place: Dallas Fuel (5 V C 3 D)
5th place: Philadelphia Fusion (5 V C 3 D)
6th place: Houston Outlaws (5 V C 3 D)
7th place: San Francisco Shock (4 V C 4 D)
8th place: London Spitfire (3 V C 5 D)
9th place: Boston Uprising (2 V C 6 D)
10th place: Seoul Dynasty (2 V C 6 D)
11th place: Florida Mayhem (1 V C 7 D)
12th place: Shanghai Dragons (0 V C 8 D)
Los Angeles Gladiators has had the best stage so far in the Overwatch League, losing just 1 match against Los Angeles Valiant and winning the other 7, some of them against formidable opponents such as New York Excelsior. A top 4 finish for Gladiators is guaranteed at this point, but Im sure the team will want to place as high as possible. In particular, a 1st place finish would almost certainly allow it to dodge New York Excelsior in the Semifinals of the Stage 4 Title Matches.
Another week, another 2 guaranteed losses for Shanghai Dragons, a team thats currently holding an undisputed record for the entire field of esports: 38 losses in a row. No doubt, the end result will be 0 V C 4 D for Dragons, as its final two opponents are very strong teams. Someone should really make a documentary about these guys as their journey during the Inaugural Season of the Overwatch League has been the stuff of legend.
Needless to say, Los Angeles Gladiators is several tiers above Shanghai Dragons in every respect. Regardless of what statistics you want to look at, this match should be an easy 3 C 1 or 4 C 0 victory in favor of Gladiators.
Betting prediction: Los Angeles Gladiators at GG Bet.
After a 7 W C 3 L record and a 3rd place finish in Stage 3, Los Angeles Valiant improved its playstyle and has crushed everyone so far in Stage 4. The team is currently sitting at the top of the league, even though it has already faced some of the other main contenders. Both New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators were defeated by LA Valiant in the previous weeks, a sign which clearly proves this version of the team is much stronger than any of the previous ones.
After transferring in the head coach of Boston Uprising, San Francisco Shock sought to improve its Stage 3 results even more, but unfortunately hasnt managed to accomplish that goal. Without any doubt, Shock is headed towards a 5 V C 5 D result in Stage 4.
From head to head (4 C 0) to recent form results, every single type of indicator points towards a Los Angeles Valiant victory in this match.
Betting prediction: Los Angeles Valiant at GG Bet.
Seoul Dynasty hasnt had a very good run in Stage 4, winning just 2 of its matches and against completely irrelevant opponents: Shanghai Dragons and Florida Mayhem. Throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League, Seoul Dynasty has been one of the fairly strong teams, finishing Stage 1, 2 and 3 in 5th (7 V C 3 D), 4th (7 V C 3 D) and 7th (5 V C 5 D) place respectively. In Stage 4, Dynasty lost very close matches against though opponents such as Los Angeles Valiant (2 C 3), Philadelphia Fusion (2 C 3) and London Spitfire (2 C 3). These close but unfortunate defeats are a testament to Seoul Dynastys capacity to hold its own against almost any adversary.
Dallas Fuel seems to have reinvented its playstyle and has performed fairly well so far in Stage 4, winning against strong opponents such as London Spitfire and Philadelphia Fusion and being ranked 4th in the standings table. Compare this situation to its 1 V C 9 D result from Stage 3 and you cant help but be impressed with how much a team can improve in such a short period of time.
Going into this match, I think that Dallas Fuel has what it takes to walk away with a victory. Especially against this version of Seoul Dynasty.
Betting prediction: Dallas Fuel at GG Bet.
