Blix.gg reported on September 21 that aspas, one of Brazil’s premier duelists, and the key player who secured the VALORANT Champions trophy with LOUD, had reached a verbal agreement with Leviatan.
This announcement coincided with Leviatan’s CEO confirming their keen interest in aspas, revealing that he had received numerous offers from various VCT regions.
However, aspas has chosen to remain close to home, signing with the LATAM giants for the 2024 VCT Americas league.
Leviatán publicly welcomed aspas to their organization via a tweet and short video referencing his nickname, “Gira aspas.”
It is widely anticipated that aspas will assume the duelist role for Leviatan, mirroring his role with LOUD during his successful two-year stint with the Brazilian powerhouse.
Nonetheless, Leviatan has yet to unveil their fifth player or announce a coach to replace Rodrigo “Onur” Dalmagro for the upcoming 2024 season.
Aspas’s time at LOUD was marked by numerous trophy victories and a period of dominance.
Joining the organization in the 2022 season, LOUD made a grand entrance in Masters Reykjavik, reaching the Grand Finals and becoming the first Brazilian team to achieve this feat, although they ultimately lost to OpTic Gaming.
In a triumphant conclusion to 2022, LOUD secured the Valorant Champions title, marking Brazil’s very first victory on the international stage.
Aspas remained loyal to LOUD in 2023, guiding them to the Grand Finals of LOCK//IN, only to be bested by Fnatic during their hot streak.
After Leviatan didn’t qualify for either of the two VCT Masters or the VALORANT Champions in 2023, a player like aspas could help get them back into contention for Americas and international titles.
