Despite a challenging season in 2024, which saw T1 narrowly secure a spot at Worlds by defeating KT Rolster in the LCK Regional Finals, the South Korean squad reaffirmed their status as a powerhouse on the global stage.

With this victory, T1 advanced to the semi-finals for the ninth time in Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s storied career, maintaining his perfect record of reaching the semis in all his Worlds appearances.

Entering Worlds 2024 as South Korea’s fourth seed, T1 had a rocky start, including a loss to TES in their opening match of the Swiss Stage.

However, they bounced back with wins over paiN Gaming, Bilibili Gaming, and a decisive sweep of G2 Esports, securing their knockout stage berth.

TES, on the other hand, earned their place as the second seed from the LPL and were seen as strong contenders for the Summoner’s Cup, featuring a lineup with three former world champions.

Their road to the quarter-finals included victories over Fnatic and DPlus KIA, despite falling to Gen.G earlier in the Swiss Stage.

The series began with a slow-paced game one, with only four kills by the 25-minute mark.

TES initially held a narrow lead, but T1’s superior map control allowed them to secure a pivotal teamfight near Baron, leading to a decisive victory with a 13-5 kill score.

Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung’s flawless Caitlyn performance, alongside Faker’s strong showing on Sylas, set the tone for the rest of the series.

In game two, T1 unleashed a near-perfect display, completely shutting out TES in a 15-0 rout.

Faker’s Ahri was pivotal, racking up six kills, while Gumayusi continued his dominance on Xayah, helping T1 secure match point.

TES struggled to find any openings, as T1 systematically dismantled them across the map.

Game 3 saw TES put up more resistance, but T1 had already figured out their strategy.

Despite TES’s attempts to rally, T1 outmanoeuvred them in crucial fights, culminating in a 37-minute victory to complete the sweep.

Gumayusi finished the series with a perfect KDA, while Ryu “Keria” Min-seok’s Pyke made his debut at Worlds 2024 with an impactful performance.

The series not only marked T1’s advance to the semi-finals but also set a new peak viewership record for Worlds 2024, drawing over 3.6 million viewers.

T1 will face either Gen.G, their long-standing LCK rivals, or North America’s FlyQuest in the semi-finals as they continue their quest to defend their title.

TES’s elimination means they finish fifth-eighth, earning $100,125 in prize money, while T1 have secured at least a third-fourth place finish and a guaranteed $178,000.

The victory reaffirms T1’s resurgence at Worlds, reminding everyone why they should never be counted out, especially with Faker leading the charge.

TOP ESPORTS vs T1 LOL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: TES $1.99 at GG Bet | T1 $1.78 at GG Bet When: October 19, 2024 | 14:00 CEST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Top Esports will have side choice when they meet with T1 in the third quarterfinal of League of Legends World Championship 2024 on Saturday.

The defending champions lost to Top Esports in the opening round of the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage. However, top LoL betting sites have them priced as favourites for the rematch.

While T1 have looked better lately, that does not mean they are in top form. The series against G2 Esports could have easily extended to the third map, but Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. played a competitive game against Bilibili Gaming.

Top Esports made it to the playoffs without major issues, beating T1, Fnatic, and Dplus KIA. Their loss against Gen.G mainly came down to TES opting for an early-mid composition, which did not work out for the LoL Pro League (LPL) representatives.

Even though Top Esports look more than capable of beating T1, the same can be said the other way around. Besides some questionable results from the latter stages of the season, T1 remain a serious threat to win the Summoner’s Cup and have not shown many weaknesses at LoL Worlds 2024.

They were a bit lucky to sweep G2 Esports, and knowing how shaky Bilibili Gaming are, T1’s victory against China’s No.1 team might not mean much on paper. Still, T1 are very good in the early game, boasting a tournament-high +2225 gold difference at 15 minutes (GD@15).

The Korean giants also navigate the mid-late game much better than Top Esports, but a more significant factor to consider here is that Bai “369” Jia-Hao and his crew are not that good at fighting from behind.

It is fair to feel doubtful about T1, as we have not seen the best of them for months. Yet even now, when they are not playing at 100%, they’ve shown enough to suggest they can beat Top Esports this time around.

These victories allow them to join LNG Esports and Gen.G as the first four teams to qualify for the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, Dplus KIA (DK) and FlyQuest (FLY) now find themselves with 2-2 records, leaving their next matches as do-or-die scenarios.

Their upcoming series will determine whether they advance or face elimination from the tournament.

Top Esports set the tone for the day with a dominant 2-0 sweep against Dplus KIA.

TES impressed with their ability to handle DK’s Yone pick, a champion often seen as a game-changer at Worlds, especially when played by a skilled player like Heo “Showmaker” Su.

Despite the pressure, TES’s mid-laner Lin “Creme” Jian, on Aurora, expertly neutralised Showmakers impact in both games.

TES’s aggressive, LPL-style gameplay was on full display, racking up a staggering 41 kills across two games.

DK struggled to keep up with the relentless pace.

Despite starting the Swiss Stage strong, DK now face elimination as they prepare for their final chance to qualify for the knockout stage.

FlyQuest, up against the top-seeded LCK team, Hanwha Life Esports, came into their match as underdogs but put up a strong fight.

In Game 1, HLE took early control, methodically outmanoeuvring FlyQuest for a clean win.

However, in Game 2, FlyQuest surprised everyone by picking Nunu in the jungle, a champion rarely seen at this level of play.

This unconventional pick, along with strong synergy between Gabri?l “Bwipo” Raus Olaf and Kacper “Inspired” S?omas Nunu, caught HLE off guard, allowing FlyQuest to pull off an upset and tie the series 1-1.

Despite their spirited comeback, FlyQuest couldn’t sustain the momentum.

In Game 3, HLE drafted to their strengths and secured an early lead.

Han “Peanut” Wang-hos Skarner was a key factor, controlling the map and leading his team through critical team fights.

While FlyQuest fought valiantly, HLE ultimately proved too strong, winning the deciding game to take the series 2-1 and claim their spot in the quarterfinals.

Though both DK and FlyQuest lost their series, they will have one final opportunity to qualify for the knockout stage in the fifth round of the Swiss Stage.

Here are our LoL betting picks for the two fixtures with esports odds courtesy of top bookmakers in Seychelles.

DPLUS KIA vs TOP ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: DK $2.94 at GG Bet | TES $1.38 at GG Bet
When: October 10, 2024 | 14:00 CEST

Top Esports have had quite a tough road so far, with fixtures against T1, Gen.G, and Fnatic, but they’ve done well with a strong showing against the defending world champions and Fnatic. The Chinese representatives rank seventh in gold per minute (1837) and third in gold difference at 15 minutes (+800), which is not unexpected.

As a very explosive early-game team, Top Esports tend to run away with leads and are good at closing out games when ahead, which is one of the main reasons they deserve to be viewed as favourites with the top LoL betting sites to defeat Dplus KIA.

Dplus KIA have been performing very much like themselves, as they seem to lack the incentive to push their leads, which nearly cost them the game against Fnatic. Heo “ShowMaker” Su is also a bit inconsistent but boasts a very strong upside, so it is hard to question their chances of beating any team at LoL Worlds.

At this price, you either take Dplus KIA or pass. They have enough talent to match Top Esports, and while consistency is not there yet, the potential is.

Hanwha Life Esports had a bit of a rough game against G2 Esports, which could have easily ended the other way. But that was more of an indication of G2 Esports’ quality than anything else. On the other side, their rematch with Gen.G ended in a crushing loss.

Hanwha Life Esports continue to play their counter-punching style, which explains why they stood no chance against a tougher opponent. Yet that same style does very well against weaker teams, who are prone to making mistakesand in theory, that should work against FlyQuest.

The North American representatives have had a very easy road so far at LoL Worlds 2024, with wins against GAM Esports and PSG Talon, but could not make it past Dplus KIA, even though they did not have a terrible showing.

Hanwha Life Esports are the better squad in this contest, but at this number, it is hard to justify taking their side. At $4.33, we like our chances with FlyQuest to win a map.

LoL Worlds 2024 draw sets stage for round four https://www.doharugbyfc.com/lol-worlds-2024-draw-sets-stage-for-round-four/ https://www.doharugbyfc.com/lol-worlds-2024-draw-sets-stage-for-round-four/#respond Mon, 07 Oct 2024 23:25:37 +0000 https://www.doharugbyfc.com/?p=38875 The League of Legends World Championship 2024 Round 4 draw took place following the two elimination matches on Monday, October 7, revealing the next six fixtures, set to take place from Thursday to Saturday.

The LoL Worlds Swiss Stage is slowly drawing to an end as only 12 teams remain in the race for a spot in the playoffs.

By the end of this week, three more squads will join MAD Lions KOI and paiN Gaming on their flight back home.

Tough draw for western teams in 2-1 bracket

The LoL Worlds 2024 draw gave us six exciting fixtures to look forward to; however, the Western fans could have hoped for an easier draw.

In the 2-1 bracket, we will see Dplus KIA clash with Top Esports in what promises to be an explosive series featuring two teams who have averaged 32.5 and 27.6 combined kills and deaths per game so far.

And while both sides can be happy with the opponent they got paired with, the same cannot be said for G2 Esports and FlyQuest.

Europe’s top seed will face off against an old foe in T1, while FlyQuest were handed the tough task of having to overcome LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer champions, Hanwha Life Esports.

G2 Esports last met with T1 during the Mid-Season Invitational 2024, losing both series 2-3 and 0-3.

Yet despite T1’s struggles in the latter months of the season, top LoL betting sites seem to have put more weight on the head-to-head record, pricing the Korean powerhouse as $1.34 favourites.

Meanwhile, League Championship Series (LCS) top seed FlyQuest are priced as the biggest outsiders of LoL Worlds 2024 Round 4 at $11.07, giving them a mere 9% implied probability of beating Hanwha Life Esports and securing a ticket for the playoffs.

The last chance bracket

The 1-2 pool draw has ended well for the two Western teams.

Team Liquid and Fnatic avoided China’s Bilibili Gaming, who got paired with PSG Talon. However, that does not make the road to the final round any easier for either the LCS or LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) squads.

Team Liquid have found themselves in a better spot, as they will play GAM Esports, who pulled off an upset on Monday and eliminated MAD Lions KOI from the tournament.

As $1.32 favourites, Team Liquid are expected to make it through the fourth round. The same can not be said for Fnatic.

Europe’s second seed will meet with Weibo Gaming in what is expected to be a very one-sided game.

After struggling against Dplus KIA and Top Esports, Fnatic’s chances of reaching their first LoL Worlds playoffs since 2020 seem slim. Yet Weibo Gaming haven’t had the best run in Germany either, which inspires some hope for the underdogs.

MAD Lions KOI & paiN Gaming sent packing

Before the round four draw, the first two LoL Worlds 2024 elimination fixtures took place, yet none played out as expected.

The day started with a shock loss of LEC’s third seed, MAD Lions, who slipped against GAM Esports in a three-map thriller.

While MAD Lions have been struggling to perform on the big stage, by losing to GAM Esports, they suffered yet another early elimination from LoL Worlds after placing 17th-18th in 2022 and 12th-14th in 2023.

The second elimination match saw the betting favourites, Team Liquid, take care of business against their southern neighbours, paiN Gamiing, in one of the closest series of the tournament.

It marked another early LoL Worlds exit of a Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) representatives and the last time we will see a team carrying a CBLOL flag, as CBLOL, Liga Latinoamrica (LLA) and LCS merge into a new League of the Americas league in 2025.

LoL World Championship 2024 continues on Thursday, October 10, with the first series of the fourth round.

LoL Worlds 2-1 bracket series

  • Dplus KIA ($2.86) vs Top Esports ($1.40) | October 10 @ 2pm CEST

Day four of the LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage featured four exciting fixtures between eight teams who have secured one victory over the first two rounds.

While LoL betting sites made it obvious which sides were expected to win, things did not play out as expected, as three favourites failed to meet the expectations.

LoL Pro League top seed falls to 1-2

The day kicked off with Top Esports facing off against Fnatic, ending in a comfortable victory for the LoL Pro League (LPL) second seed.

Despite showing some resistance early on, the European hopefuls crumbled under the weight of their errors and lost in just north of 24 minutes (24:09) – marking the shortest game of LoL Worlds 2024 so far.

The day continued with a clash of two juggernauts as China’s top seed, Bilibili Gaming, met with the defending world champions, T1.

Despite entering the match as favourites in LoL betting markets, Zhuo “knight” Ding and co. had to admit defeat after losing momentum in the mid-game and ended the game with an 8,600 gold deficit.

In the penultimate match, PSG Talon clashed with North America’s FlyQuest in what was billed as the closest game of the day. And the two teams delivered.

PSG Talon got off to a strong start and built on a significant gold lead before the 30-minute mark. However, by opting for a Gnar-Vi-Ahri-Jihn-Rell composition, PSG Talon struggled in teamfights.

Facing a strong scaling composition, headlined by Cassiopea and Ivern, PSG Talon’s attempts soon proved futile as they could not out-damage FlyQuest’s defences.

As soon as The North American side equipped their carries, the game spiralled out of control for Pacific Championship Series (PCS) champions.

The day’s final match saw G2 Esports run over Weibo Gaming as the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) champions showed once more?why they are the dark horses to win the whole event.

Even though they lost the first two dragons and the first Baron, G2 Esports kept a gold lead throughout the game and efficiently held off Weibo’s attacks until their composition came online.

With strong engage-oriented champions, G2 Esports found plenty of opportunities to exploit Weibo’s mistakes and came out ahead, winning their second fixture of the tournament.

Four Fixtures, Three Upsets

Of the four fixtures, Top Esports were the only team that entered the series as betting favourites and exited as victors. T1 ended the day with the biggest upset, beating Biliblii Gaming as $2.58 underdogs with the top LoL betting sites.

Top Esports, G2 Esports, FlyQuest, and T1 now join Dplus KIA and Hanwha Life Esports in the qualification round.

The draw will take place after elimination matches on Monday, October 7, when MAD Lions KOI meet with GAM Esports and paiN Gaming face off against Team Liquid.

Mondays LoL Worlds fixtures

  • MAD Lions KOI ($1.36) vs GAM Esports ($3.00) @ 1pm CEST
  • paiN Gaming ($6.50) vs Team Liquid ($1.10) @ 4pm CEST

Esports betting sites expected to see some lopsided games, and that was exactly what we witnessed, as the likes of Bilibili Gaming (BLG), Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), and G2 Esports claimed impressive victories in their respective fixtures.

BLG kicked off the first round of the Swiss Stage in a clash with MAD Lions KOI, and even though MAD shot out to an early lead, the top seed from the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) regained the ascendancy and ran away with the win in under 27 minutes.

Many expected Top Esports (TES) vs T1 to be the pick of the bunch on day one, as the reigning world champions took on a resurgent Chinese squad who secured the second seed from the LPL.

The clash was close throughout the 30 minutes, but it was TES who secured a vital win that dropped T1 into the loser’s bracket.

Gen.G entered their round one series against Weibo Gaming (WBG) as overwhelming favourites with GG Bet; however, their win was less than convincing, as it took the pre-tournament favourites 45 minutes to defeat the LPL team.

Dplus KIA and Fnatic clashed in the fourth series of the day, where the LCK’s third seed controlled the game and held a gold lead throughout before claiming the win in just over 35 minutes.

Thanks to a masterclass from LNG bot-laner Chen “GALA” Wei, the third seed from the LPL took down the top seed from the LCS, Team Liquid.

GALA’s stat-line read 9/1/9, which has him situated in equal second in the KDA list for the Swiss Stage, and with that 18.0 KDA, he propelled LNG to a dominant win inside 35 minutes.

The final three fixtures of day one featured Hanwha Life Esports vs PSG Talon, FlyQuest vs GAM Esports, and G2 Esports vs paiN Gaming, with HLE, FlyQuest and G2 winning their respective matches with relative ease to book their spot in the 1-0 bracket.

The first match of day two will be an all-LPL fixture with Bilibili Gaming taking on LNG Esports before Gen.G clashes with Top Esports in the following series.

Below is a list of Swiss Stage round two series, set to be played on Friday, October 4.

  • Bilibili Gaming ($1.30) vs LNG Esports ($3.40) @ 2pm CET
  • Gen.G ($1.40) vs Top Esports ($2.75) @ 3pm CET
  • G2 Esports ($3.40) vs Hanwha Life Esports ($1.30) @ 4pm CET

Best Odds: BLG $1.08 at GG Bet | MAD $7.10 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 14:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

MAD Lions barely made it to the LoL World Championship 2024 and were not very convincing through the play-ins either. Considering everything they have shown, Europe’s third seed should struggle against one of the tournament favourites.

Bilibili Gaming are among the leading candidates to lift the Summoner’s Cup. And while the LoL Worlds patch will introduce some uncertainty, especially early into the main stage, you must have an excellent reason to go against one of the hottest LoL esports teams.

BLG should win without any issues, but their handicap lines are a little too severe. Knowing both sides are fairly bloody, taking over 27.5 total kills is an appealing option.

TOP ESPORTS vs T1 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: TES $2.06 at GG Bet | T1 $1.73 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 15:00 CET

T1 placed fourth in the LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer regular season, third in the playoffs, and barely made it past KT Roster in the LCK 2024 Regional Finals. Top Esports were not convincing in the last split either, with bronze medals from Group Ascend and the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs.

On form, it is easy to understand why neither team is among the tournament favourites. However, it is much easier to trust TES, who have looked incredible against any team who failed to stop them early.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. can wake up at any moment to defend their throne, but T1’s early game has not been the best, which could be a problem.

GEN.G vs WEIBO GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Gen.G $1.19 at GG Bet | WBG $4.45 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 16:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Gen.G have played incredibly well throughout the 2024 season and enter Worlds as one of the title favourites. Weibo Gaming, like usual, are very potent but inconsistent underdogs who can beat anyone on their day.

Gen.G are the better, more stable, and more reliable team, yet this does not justify their tag as $1.19 favourites. The long break and volatility of a new patch could shake things up a bit, so in a series between two elite squads, it is hard to pass on the outsiders to at least keep it close.

A smaller play on Weibo Gaming to win is worth a look as well.

FNATIC vs DPLUS KIA LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Fnatic $3.36 at GG Bet | Dplus $1.30 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 17:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Fnatic and Dplus KIA are not expected to compete for the Summoner’s Cup, but they can play at a very high level. This is more obvious with Dplus KIA, who have produced excellent games domestically; the problem is they have not done this consistently.

Fnatic collapsed at the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup 2024 mainly due to the lack of experience of their bottom lane, namely ADC Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek. This could again be a problem at LoL World Championship 2024, but after two international events, some improvement is expected.

Dplus KIA have a higher ceiling, but they are not consistent in reaching it. Fnatic, at $3.36 with the best LoL betting sites, are worth a look.

Best Odds: TL $3.54 at GG Bet | LNG $1.28 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 18:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Even as $3.54 underdogs, Team Liquid might still be overrated. While the LoL Championship Series (LCS) second seed performed reasonably well at the Esports World Cup 2024, the gap between the LCS and LPL is significant enough to fade them.

LNG Esports might not be one of the main candidates to win the tournament, but they are very efficient in trashing weaker teams — as seen in their run through the LPL 2024 Summer. Expect a one-sided series.

HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS vs PSG TALON LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: HLE $1.06 at GG Bet | PSG $8.14 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 19:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Hanwha Life Esports exceeded expectations in the LCK 2024 Summer, yet most of that is thanks to Dplus KIA’s and T1’s struggles. Their LCK trophy aside, HLE are still the same counter-punching team, which will be a problem at LoL Worlds 2024.

PSG Talon had a rough run through the play-in stage; however, that does not take away from how stacked and experienced this lineup is. The added games in the play-ins also allowed PSG to warm up ahead of their first proper test of the tournament.

Even though Hanwha Life Esports are LCK’s top seed, $1.06 is an absurd price for a squad with a flawed playstyle.

FLYQUEST vs GAM ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: FLY $1.38 at GG Bet | GAM $2.94 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 20:00 CET

Matches pitting minor and major regions against one another tend to be priced heavily in favour of the latter. However, it is hard to justify saying the LCS is much stronger than the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS).

GAM Esports have not been adequately tested in their league, so it is hard to say how high they can fly. But the same can be said for FlyQuest, who only had to deal with one formidable opponent domestically.

The North American squad should be priced as favourites, but not at this number. The value is with the underdogs.

G2 ESPORTS vs PAIN GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: G2 $1.15 at GG Bet | paiN $5.08 at GG Bet
When: October 3, 2024 | 21:00 CET
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

G2 Esports were anything but great in the final split of the season; however, they shifted into a higher gear when it mattered and won both the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Summer Playoffs and the Season Finals.

PaiN Gaming looked very good in the first stage of the tournament, but they only had to defeat Vikings Esports and Movistar R7. Suffice it to say the Brazilians have not been properly tested yet.

G2 Esports are known to play with their food, but rarely on the international stage. They’re the superior team by all metrics, and it should show on Thursday.

Four teams have been eliminated, and 16 remain on the road to glory.

Even in the play-in stage, one major region has already fallen short of expectations.

100 Thieves, from North America, suffered a disappointing defeat to PSG Talon in the lower bracket final, marking an early exit from LoL Worlds 2024.

With the Swiss Stage now set, exciting first-round matchups are on the horizon.

T1 will start their title defence against Top Esports, while European fans have reason for cautious optimism: G2 Esports faces paiN Gaming, and Fnatic goes head-to-head with Dplus KIA.

On the other hand, MAD Lions fans may feel a pang of anxiety as their team has drawn LPL Summer champions, Bilibili Gaming, in the first round.

In an interview, Supa from MAD Lions expressed a desire to face a North American team for revenge, but it seems that match will have to wait.

GAM Esports, fresh off a strong play-in stage performance, will now face FlyQuest, while PSG Talon must take on the LCK Summer winners, Hanwha Life Esports.

Meanwhile, Team Liquid is set to face LNG Esports, and Weibo Gaming is lined up against Gen.G, the dominant second seed from the LCK.

This years World Championship will take place across Berlin, Paris, and London, with the Swiss Stage held in two parts: October 3-7 and October 10-13.

The opening day will feature best-of-one round one matchups, followed by 1-0 and 0-1 matchups on October 4.

From then on, the decisive best-of-three matches will determine who moves on to the knockout stage and who goes home.

The play-in stage has already concluded, with eight teams competing for four qualification spots.

These four teams will now join the twelve already qualified teams in the Swiss Stage, where many consider the real Worlds to begin.

The 16 teams are divided into four pools, with Pool 1 teams facing Pool 4, and Pool 2 taking on Pool 3.

Importantly, no teams will face opponents from their own region in the first round.

After that, matchups will pair teams with the same record regardless of region, and rematches will be prohibited.

To qualify for the knockout stage, a team must win three matches, while three losses mean elimination from Worlds 2024.

The Swiss Stage format will feature best-of-one matches until the qualification and elimination series, which will be best of three.

Fans can catch all the Swiss Stage action on the official LoL Esports channels on Twitch and YouTube.

The final eight teams that survive this gruelling stage will advance to the knockout stage, bringing them one step closer to the Summoners Cup.

TOP ESPORTS vs WEIBO GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: TES $1.28 at GG Bet | WBG $3.54 at GG Bet When: August 24, 2024 | 18:00 CST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Top Esports and Weibo Gaming are set to lock horns on Saturday, August 24, in the lower-bracket finals of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2024 Playoffs. The winner will proceed to face Bilibili Gaming in the grand finals, and according to LoL betting sites, Top Esports are in a better position to advance to the big stage.

Weibo Gaming edged past LNG Esports on Thursday in a highly competitive series which could have easily ended in a 3-2 victory for the favourites. However, WBG shifted into a higher gear on the fifth map and won with over 13k gold lead.

It was a strong showing from the underdogs, who previously performed well against Bilibili Gaming. If they can keep at it, Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao and co. might stand a chance against what seems to be a vastly superior LPL team.

Top Esports had an explosive start to their game against Bilibili Gaming on Wednesday, picking up a commanding victory on the first map. Unfortunately, Bilibili returned the favour on the next two and ground out the fourth to close out the series 3-1.

It wasn’t the most convincing display from Top Esports, who looked poised to make the day hard for Bilibili Gaming. But a few early mistakes cost them two crucial maps and, eventually, the game.

Top Esports are the favourites here, as they have shown much higher highs this split, but they’ve hardly produced more in their recent outings than Weibo Gaming. As shown in their series against BLG, Top Esports can be vulnerable if stopped early, and Weibo are unquestionably a squad capable of throwing a spanner in the works.

At the current prices, the outsiders are an excellent longshot bet. However, the safe play is to back Weibo Gaming at the map line.
