Team Falcons have announced the benching of Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, Pavle “maden” Bo?kovi?, and Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen from their Counter-Strike roster following the team’s disappointing performance at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 European RMR A.
The Saudi-backed squad also confirmed that Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s loan spell will not continue, leaving the team with only two active members: Emil “Magisk” Reif and coach Danny “zonic” S?rensen.
“Effective immediately, Dupreeh, Snappi and Maden will be moved to the bench, while S1mple’s loan will not be extended,” Team Falcons said in a statement.
“We sincerely thank all four players for their hard work and commitment to Team Falcons and wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”
In the post, Team Falcons stated that missing the Perfect World Shanghai Major was a massive disappointment that ushered them to look for ways to rebuild for the 2025 season.
The Falcons have claimed just one title this year, winning their side of the bracket at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024.
Other notable accomplishments include reaching the final four at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #1, and a silver medal from ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024 in June.
However, over the last three months, Team Falcons have not shown anything inspiring. They exited the second BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 in seventh-eighth and crashed out of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 and ESL Challenger Katowice 2024 in last place.
In the last-ditch attempt to salvage the season, the Falcons acquired Counter-Strike: Global Offensive legend s1mple on a three-month loan from Natus Vincere. But even with the 27-year-old on the roster, they could not find any traction.
This is in stark contrast to the Falcons’ Dota 2 team, which recently won a third straight DreamHack DreamLeague title.
